This week was spent working on deployments for the Journeys Web API, as well as testing (parity and destructive). It's the last week of Ramadan, with Eid being on <2026-03-20 Fri>.

After some research, I found out you can install [[https://nextcloud.com/install/#desktop-files][Desktop Client for Nextcloud]], which will sync the files that are in nextcloud to my local machine. Then I simply copied over the config files, and now I can access the PKMS through windows!

#+SLUG: more-thoughts-regarding-changes-26-03-26
Yesterday I did a [[./thoughts-on-life-25-03-26.org][ramble]] on the changes that I have been making in my life, and I wanted to add some more thoughts on the topic.
With the limited free time that has now transpired, it is so important to make sure that I am using it wisely. I have been trying to be more intentional with how I spend my time, and I really do not want to spend this time on the computer 'working' on other things like this website. The notes and this website are practically completed, with other adhoc things being put on hold (are they really needed? I can add blogs, posts, notes, track my wird, etc.) for now.
I did mention that I wanted to spend this time doing the following:
#+begin_src bash
For 24.25 hours of free time, most of it is going to be spent on errands, and mandatory things. But I want to spend at least 12 hours of it doing:
- Going outside and being in nature
- Exercising (swimming and basketball)
- Spending time with family and friends
- Reading books
- Cooking
- Motal'ah
#+end_src
I will use this page as a way to track how much free time I get per day, and what I do with it.
- <2026-03-25 Wed>: I came home at 9:50pm, and had 1h and 10 minutes of free time. I spent 20 minutes fixing my car keys, and spent a few minutes talking to my family. I then spent the rest of the time on the computer, even though I told myself only 10 minutes. The issue was with syncthing, and it took some time to fix it. I finished at around 11pm.

#+SLUG: quick-lunch-24-03
Went to the gym during lunch, came back and had only a few mins to make lunch. I decided to make [[https://nextcloud.zainezq.com/apps/cookbook/#/recipe/23133][Healthy Creamy Tuna Wrap]] although I left out the salad and tomatos (sadly). Would be nice to be able to cook quicker without having to constantly refer back to the recipe all the time.
Anyways, presentation isn't the best (it was yummy though Alhamdulillah).

* Introduction
Been doing some thinking recently. My work day begins at 8:00 and ends at 16:30. I have a one hour lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00. This totals to 7.5 hours of work per day. Over a week, this amounts to 37.5 hours.
Straight after work, I go to Madressah for the Hifz class from 17:30 to 19:30, which is 2 hours. This means that on weekdays, I am occupied for a total of 9.5 hours (7.5 hours of work + 2 hours of Hifz).
Straight after Hifz, I have Madressah classes from 19:30 to 22:15 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This adds an additional 2 hours and 45 minutes to my weekday schedule, making it a total of 12 hours and 15 minutes of commitments on those days.
On Wednesdays, there is a Majlis from 19:30 to 21:45 ish, which is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
On the weekends, I have Madressah classes from 11:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. This means that on weekends, I am occupied for 3 hours each day.
So in total, on the weekdays, I am occupied for 12 hours and 15 minutes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 11.75 hours on Wednesdays, which totals to 60.75 hours. On the weekends, I am occupied for 3 hours each day, which totals to 6 hours for the weekend.
In summary, my weekly schedule looks like this:
- Monday: 12 hours and 15 minutes
- Tuesday: 12 hours and 15 minutes
- Wednesday: 11 hours and 45 minutes
- Thursday: 12 hours and 15 minutes
- Friday: 12 hours and 15 minutes
- Saturday: 3 hours
- Sunday: 3 hours
A week has 168 hours. If I subtract the hours I am occupied (60.75 hours on weekdays + 6 hours on weekends = 66.75 hours), I am left with 101.25 hours of free time each week. But we have to account for sleep, so if I sleep for 8 hours a night, that totals to 56 hours of sleep per week. Subtracting that from the free time leaves me with 45.25 hours of truly free time each week. In honesty, there is also 3 hours a day where I need to do other mandatory activities such as eating, showering, commuting, etc. This totals to 21 hours per week. Subtracting that from the free time leaves me with 24.25 hours of truly free time each week.
It's only been the second day of being back into routine, and I feel quite burnt out already. One thing I want to try and do this weekend In'sha'Allah, is to completely relax and destress. I really enjoy (?) spending time on the screen working on projects, but this isn't the healthiest option, given that the free time is quite scarce. I want to try and spend more time outside, going for walks, and just generally being in nature. Exercising is also important, and I want to go swimming once a week, and play basketball once a week too.

#+SLUG: training-on-friday-afternoon-27-03-26
During the work week, we are given 4 hours dedicated to training. I tend to spend this time working on my website, however I would also like to use this time to learn new things on Pluralsight. One of the courses I did today was an introducion to APIs.
One other I would like to spend a few weeks on is ASP.NET Core API Development. I have been working with APIs for a while now, but I would like to get a better understanding of how to build them from scratch using ASP.NET Core. This course will cover topics such as routing, controllers, and authentication.
